Flu Watch
Suspected cases of the flu have jumped in Tennessee and four other
southern states -- Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas, according
to the Associated Press. Already, three schools in middle Tennessee
closed this year due to illness. Macon and Stewart County schools
returned this week after dismissing classes due to sickness. Macon
County schools cancelled classes for two days last week after 575
students reported sick. Last Tuesday in Stewart County, 240 of 2100
students were absent due to illness. Also, Clarksville Academy had to
close it's doors in early November after many students came down with
strep and influenza.

Flu Signs and Symptoms
According to the Centers for Disease Control, the flu usually comes on suddenly. People who have the flu often feel some or all of these symptoms:
FLU VS. COMMON COLD
Flu Symptoms (more intense than common cold):
- Fever
- Body aches
- Extreme tiredness
- Dry cough are more common and intense
- Chills

Cold Symptoms:
- Stuffy/runny nose
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Fever is rare
- Slight body aches
- Mild fatigue
