Flu Watch
The flu is hitting Tennessee hard this winter. The State Health
Department is helping out by offering free flu shots at all of its
clinics. The shots are available for anyone who wants them. Tennessee is
one of five states the CDC says is experiencing a high activity of the
flu. Three school districts in the Mid-State are closed until Monday
because too many student have come down with flu like illnesses. CDC
officials are recommending that every one get vaccinated this year.

Flu Signs and Symptoms
According to the Centers for Disease Control, the flu usually comes on suddenly. People who have the flu often feel some or all of these symptoms:
FLU VS. COMMON COLD
Flu Symptoms (more intense than common cold):
- Fever
- Body aches
- Extreme tiredness
- Dry cough are more common and intense
- Chills
- HeadachesCommon
Cold Symptoms:
- Stuffy/runny nose
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Fever is rare
- Slight body aches
- Mild fatigue
