Flu Watch
The Metro Health Department is offering free flu vaccinations for those who need them. The shots are available on a walk in basis at all three Health Department locations from 8 am until 3:30 pm Monday through Friday. The clinics are the East Health Center at 1015 East Trinity Lane, Lentz Health Center at 311 23rd Avenue North and Woodbine Health Center at 224 Oriel Avenue. The flu season has hit early and hard in Tennessee. Tennessee is one of five states the CDC says is experiencing high flu activity. Health officials say your best defense is to get a flu shot.

Flu Signs and Symptoms
According to the Centers for Disease Control, the flu usually comes on suddenly. People who have the flu often feel some or all of these symptoms:
FLU VS. COMMON COLD
Flu Symptoms (more intense than common cold):
- Fever
- Body aches
- Extreme tiredness
- Dry cough are more common and intense
- Chills
- HeadachesCommon
Cold Symptoms:
- Stuffy/runny nose
- Cough
- Sore throat
- Fever is rare
- Slight body aches
- Mild fatigue
