15-year-old killed in Alabama hunting accident
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ala. —
A 15-year-old girl is dead after a hunting accident.
The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office says the teenage girl was killed as their hunting party was climbing down their tree stand. Authorities say a friend was passing down a rifle when it went off.
The girl was transported to a local hospital where she later died. Authorities have not released her name.
This happened in an the area of Valley Ford Road and Bufford Road, north of Adger.
While the case remains under investigation, authorities say all signs point to this being a tragic accident.
