Young man killed, others injured in three vehicle crash on I-40

Tennessee Highway Patrol said a young man was killed and three others were injured in a three-vehicle crash on Sunday.

Rickie G. Wesley, 24, of Memphis was killed in the crash about 3:30 p.m. along I-40 in Humphreys County.

THP officers said an SUV traveling westbound on I-40 went off the roadway and into the median. While going through the median, THP said the SUV ran into the eastbound lane and struck two other vehicles. The SUV went airborne and into a ditch where it came to a final rest.

Donta M. Wilson, 27, of Memphis was driving the SUV and was injured in the crash. Wesley was a passenger in the SUV and was killed.

Tiffany N. Hennings, 30, of Nashville was driving one of the vehicles struck by the SUV. She was injured in the crash. Allison P. Martin, 40, of Lexington was driving the other vehicle struck by the SUV and was injured in the crash.

THP said criminal charges are pending.
