Man with knife, claiming to be the 'devil' prompts now lifted lockdown at Vol State

UPDATE: A Vol State spokesman said the lockdown has been lifted that was prompted by a man with a knife across the street.

Gallatin Police were looking for a white male who brandished a knife across the street from the school, claiming he is the "devil from LA."

The suspect was wearing a black t-shirt with red lettering and black pants. The man is possibly driving a four-door gray car.

Vol State Community College's Gallatin campus is on lockdown due to a reported man across the street with a knife.

An alert was sent to students and staff saying there was a shelter in place. The alert went out at 12:24 p.m.

Schools officials said to listen to overhead announcements.
