Vehicular homicide suspect arrested in Nashville overnight
NASHVILLE, Tenn. —
A vehicular homicide suspect has been arrested overnight in Nashville.
On September 22, 2017, Victor Coode was in a 2005 Buick LeSabre in the middle turning lane of Harding Place. He was planning to turn left. Two additional passengers, Taylor Minyard and Rachel Brown were in the Buick as well.
Reybaz Abdullah was traveling westbound in the right lane of Harding Place in a 2014 Audi A6 with one passenger, Hager Hajani. Abdullah was driving at about 98 mph in a 40 mph zone.
Abdullah struck the front passenger side of the Buick as Coode was turning left.
Coode was pronounced dead at the scene. Brown, who was only six-years-old, Minyard, and Hajani were all taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
Abdullah was arrested and booked just before 10:00 last night. He is charged with aggravated assault, deadly weapon and reckless driving.
He is expected to appear in court on January 12, 2018.
