UPDATE (4-1): Metro Police have confirmed the teen who was shot in the head has died from his injuries.
PREVIOUS REPORTS: According to witnesses, the teen was playing with a cat and dropped a gun he was handling. The gun discharged, hitting him in the head.
NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A 19-year-old is rushed to Vanderbilt University Medical Center Monday night after being shot in the head at Hadley Park near Tennessee State University, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.
Police received the call shortly after 10pm. They found the victim under a park pavilion near the Hadley Park Recreation Center. He went to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in critical condition.
Police are looking for a suspect, but no description has been given.
There were two witnesses with the victim at the time of the shooting. Police are in the process of interviewing them.
