CODE RED: Remnants of Hurricane Nate could bring 1-4 inches of rain to Middle Tennessee

(Fox 17 News)

Heavy rain continues to be the biggest threat at Hurricane Nate nears the Gulf.

On Friday, the storms track moved more to the east, focusing its landing site in the Biloxi, Miss. area. The tropical storm strengthened to hurricane status Friday night.

With the shift, some of the more severe weather has moved into the eastern Tennessee area, but parts of the midstate are still slated for a good soaking rain.

Most areas are expected to get one to three inches of rain, while some isolated areas could see up to four inches of rain.

Some areas could see a scattered shower or two on Saturday afternoon, but most of the rain will be hitting the midstate Sunday afternoon and overnight.

However, this is a fast-moving system and is expected to be completely out of our area by midmorning on Monday.
