THP Sergeant dies after off-duty motorcycle crash
NASHVILLE, Tenn. —
The Tennessee Highway Patrol announced the death a long-time THP Sergeant, who was severely injured in an off-duty motorcycle crash last weekend.
THP said Sgt. Allan Brenneis was a veteran of the highway patrol serving on the Critical Incident Response Team. The patrol described his career as extensive and successful.
"Sgt. Brenneis was not only well respected by his co-workers, but across the state and nation," THP said. "He was extremely knowledgeable in his field of work in his field of work, training countless agencies. We ask that you keep Sgt. Brenneis' family, friends, and our department in your thoughts and prayers."
A GoFundMe for Brenneis said he was injured in a crash riding with other motorcyclist and life-flighted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
The fund was started by a fellow trooper's wife to ease the family's worry and pay some of their medical bills. It also said Brenneis' wife Judy is battling lung cancer.
Members of Tennessee law enforcement expressed their condolences and support for the THP.
