Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury executive sues semi driver, company after crash

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--The Chief of Staff for the Tennessee Comptroller of the Treasury is suing a truck driver and a trucking company after he was injured in a semi crash.

Jason Mumpower was injured during the November 2nd crash on I-81 in Kingsport after a semi hauling frozen chicken struck Mumpower's vehicle and overturned, causing a chain reaction of crashes. Five vehicles were involved in the crash according to Kingsport Police.

Mumpower is seeking $1.5 million in damages for negligence. WCYB reports Mumpower suffered a fractured arm and other injuries. He is currently still out from work recovering from the crash.
