Teen shot and killed in targeted shooting after running away from Antioch home
NASHVILLE, Tenn. —
(Update 5 p.m.) Metro Police said a 14-year-old runaway from state custody died from a gunshot wound early Friday afternoon.
According to Metro Nashville Police, Tirell Hill was shot just before 11:30 a.m. at Phipps Drive and Lunn Drive in Bordeaux. Police believe the shooting was targeted.
Hill ran away from a home in Antioch, where he was in state custody, on May 19.
Police said he was shot and killed by someone in a black Nissan Altima with dark, tinted windows and a spoiler on the trunk. Officers said Hill did not have any known ties to the area, and they're not sure why he was there.
They also believe the driver of the car was unfamiliar with the area. A witness saw the car drive away from the shooting down a dead end road and turn around before fleeing the scene.
Detectives want to know where Hill had been and who he had been with, particularly over the past week.
Anyone seeing him recently should call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463 or North Precinct Investigations at 615-862-7889.
