TBI identifies missing man found dead in Tennessee River
BENTON COUNTY, Tenn. —
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said agents are investigating a homicide after a missing man's body was found in the Tennessee River this week.
Benton County Sheriff Kenny Christopher said 40-year-old Scott Damon was found in the river on Thursday near the Benton County and Humphreys County. The BCSO said he had been missing from Wilson County for 8-10 days.
The sheriff said he believes Damon's body was in the river for a majority of that time.
A homicide investigation is under way due to trauma of the injuries and decomposition of the body. The body was sent for an autopsy on Friday.
