NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) -- The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) announced a significant human trafficking operation in Brentwood launched in October.

Over the course of three days, the TBI says 22 men were arrested seeking sex with minors.

The TBI says they posted an ad on Backpage.com offering sex for money. Two female agents posed as minor females aged 14 and 16-years-old when communicating with the men who ultimately showed up to act on the arrangement.

Among those arrested were an engineer, a chef, construction worker, and computer programmer.

A fugitive from Texas already convicted for sex with a minor charges and ten other undocumented individuals were arrested in the sting and are in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

"This included a fugitive from Texas who was already wanted for sexual assault of a child, a previous alien and 9 individuals who are here illegally," Asst. Special Agent in Charge, Robert Hammer of Homeland Security in Tennessee, said.

Currently, 20 of the 22 men are in some type of custody according to the TBI. None of the men arrested were Brentwood residents though a few did have an address in Williamson County according to the TBI.

21st Judicial District Attorney Kim Helper says it's a demand driven crime that will take more than making arrests to stop.

"As parents be aware of what your young people, you're young women are doing online so that they don't fall victim to this kind of crimes," Helper said.

These are crimes that officers say, across the state, show no sign of letting up.

"We've been anywhere from upper East Tennessee to Memphis and it's the same result. It doesn't matter if your urban or suburban, rural areas. It's constantly the same result. The demand is there," Jason Locke, Deputy Director of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, said.
