Suspect in custody after reported shooting at VA Medical Center in Nashville
NASHVILLE, TN -- Metro Nashville Police along with VA police are on scene of a shooting call at the VA Medical Center in Nashville.
One person was taken into custody.
Police were called to the scene shortly before 11 p.m. for a shots fired call.
Officials with Vanderbilt University sent out an alert to students telling them to seek "shelter immediately" around 10:46 p.m. Saturday.
About 20 minutes later, Vanderbilt University Police sent another alert stating the suspect was in custody and officers had secured the area.
Students are advised to avoid the VA Hospital area during the investigation.
According to Metro Police, no injuries were reported during this incident.
