STEER CLEAR: Several crashes snarling traffic in the midstate


Several crashes are snarling traffic in the midstate on Friday.

TDOT said flyover ramps throughout the state are getting icy. Tennessee is under a state of emergency on Friday for icy conditions on the interstates.

5 p.m. Update

In Nashville, a multi-vehicle crash has the left lanes blocked on Eastbound Briley Pkwy at Gallatin Pike. Expected to clear by 6 p.m. TDOT has reports of black ice on I-65 from Armory Drive to Cool Springs. Crews are treating the area, but drivers should use extreme caution.

In Millersville, I-65 is shut down for multiple crashes TDOT said the area is extremely icy, and crews are working to clear everything.

In White House, an overturned semi has traffic down to one lane at I-65 SB near Mile Marker 108 . Road expected to clear by 7 p.m.

In Rutherford County, I-840 was closed for a crash in the westbound lanes near S Lowry Street.

10-vehicle crash closed I-24 in both directions in Christian County. Kentucky State Police said there are no injures, and drivers are being detoured through Clarksville.

There's no word on whether these crashes are weather-related. Drivers are continues to use caution while out on the roads in icy conditions.
