State agency closes Chattanooga Dollar Tree because of rodents
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. —
The Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) has closed a Chattanooga Dollar Tree until the store corrects violations related to rodents.
On Wednesday, January 31st, the TDA received a complaint about the Dollar Tree at 480 Greenway View Drive.
TDA spokesman WIll Freeman says they sent an inspector to the store that same day and found a number of violations:
- Improper storage
- Rodent droppings on the floor
- Rodent gnawing on products
- Dead rodents in the stock room
- Rodent urine on boxes
- Dead rodents in traps
Because of the violations, the TDA deemed the store had unsafe operating conditions for a food establishment.
The store will be closed until the violations are corrected.
