The Tennessee Department of Agriculture (TDA) has closed a Chattanooga Dollar Tree until the store corrects violations related to rodents.

On Wednesday, January 31st, the TDA received a complaint about the Dollar Tree at 480 Greenway View Drive.

TDA spokesman WIll Freeman says they sent an inspector to the store that same day and found a number of violations:

  • Improper storage
  • Rodent droppings on the floor
  • Rodent gnawing on products
  • Dead rodents in the stock room
  • Rodent urine on boxes
  • Dead rodents in traps

Because of the violations, the TDA deemed the store had unsafe operating conditions for a food establishment.

The store will be closed until the violations are corrected.
