Solar eclipse countdown begins for Southern Kentucky, Tennessee
NASHVILLE, Tenn.--Sunday marked the one year countdown to a total solar eclipse which will be visible for most of the United States.
On August 21, 2017, Tennessee and Kentucky will be among the states with the best view of the solar event. According to Space.com, it is the first time the path of a solar eclipse will go coast-to-coast since 1918.
While not all states will see the total eclipse, most will see the moon block out at least 80% of the sun. FOX 17 Chief Meteorologist breaks down the event and what it means for Southern Kentucky and Tennessee.
