Sen. Beavers considers run for Tennessee governor
NASHVILLE, Tenn. —
Sen. Mae Beavers confirmed Monday she is considering running for Tennessee Governor after several callers asked her to be the "most conservative option."
Beavers said callers are concerned Sen. Mark Green may be appointed to Secretary of the Army by President Trump. She said the volume of calls to her office caused her to explore the idea of running for governor.
She plans to be the "most conservative option" is Sen. Green is appointed.
Beavers said her next step is to begin filing official paperwork for the campaign.
