Passengers on-board when plane goes off runway at Nashville airport

A spokeswoman for the Nashville International Airport said a plane with passengers on board went off the runway Friday afternoon.

Shannon Sumrall said the nose gear of United Airlines Flight 4696 went off Taxiway B1 before take off at about noon.

United Airlines said 50 passengers and three crew members were on board. It was bound for Chicago.

The Nashville International Airport Fire and Rescue team responded. There were no injuries and Sumrall said this incident was not weather-related.

Passengers are being deboarded and the flight has been canceled.
