Police dog apprehends gunman after shots fired at North Nashville apartment complex

A man has been taken into custody after a shots fired call at a North Nashville apartment complex.

It happened about 1:10 p.m. in the 2400 block of Buena Vista Pike.

Metro Police said a gang unit was conducting a search warrant in the are when the officer heard shots and saw a man with a pistol.

Metro Police Spokesman Don Aaron's Office said the gang officer challenged the gunman and asked him to stop. The gunman took off running, throwing he gun down in the process.

The gun was recovered and the gunman continued running through a portion of Bordeaux. A police dog apprehended him at the river bank.

No one was injured during the incident.
