Nashville police say two men injured by gunfire on 12th Avenue North shot at each other
NASHVILLE, Tenn.--Metro Nashville Police have identified the two men hit by gunfire on Sunday night on the 1600 block of 12th Avenue North.
Police say the 31-year-old Charles Eugene Smith was found with multiple gunshot wounds while inside a crashed Jeep Cherokee. He died after being transported to the hospital. Police found a pistol inside the Jeep.
23-year-old Christopher Hatcher was found in the road with multiple gunshot wounds. Police say evidence shows he was a passenger in a Nissan Altima when he was shot. His friend, 32-year-old Victoria Johnson, was shot in the arm during the altercation.
Hatcher is being treated at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Johnson was treated and released.
Police say everyone's wounds was caused by what evidence shows was the two men shooting at each other. Police are working to identify a motive in the shooting.
