Murfreesboro juvenile accidentally shoots father while cleaning gun
UPDATE: A Murfreesboro dad was injured after a rife his juvenile son was working on accidentally discharged.
Rutherford County deputies said the father was stuck in the leg and flow to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
One round was in the chamber when the boy was working on the rifle, deputies said.
"Take the round out of the chamber," Sgt. Goodwin said. "Never touch a trigger while cleaning or working on a firearm."
Sgt. Goodwin says this was "absolutely an accident."
MURFREESBORO, Tenn.-The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office confirms they are responding to an accidental shooting call at 7002 Lowe Road.
Dispatchers say a juvenile was cleaning a gun when the gun discharged and hit the father in the leg.
Injuries to the father are not believed to be life-threatening but LifeFlight has been called to the scene.
