Man killed in Franklin motorcycle crash identified
FRANKLIN, Tenn. —
Franklin Police have identified a man killed in a Franklin motorcycle crash.
Patrick Sturdivant, 44, died after being transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center after the crash on McEwn Drive.
Police said a 50-ear-old woman from Nolensville was trying to change lanes when she collided with the motorcycle.
Traffic Reconstructionists from the Franklin Police Department’s Critical Incident Response team are investigating.
Investigators are still working to find out if charged will be filed.
Yesterday evening at 5:30 p.m, officers were dispatched to E. McEwen Drive near Carothers Parkway for a car vs. motorcycle injury crash.
Officers found a severely injured motorcycle driver off of the roadway in an area of trees.
Officials determined that the driver of the motorcycle was traveling East of E. McEwen when a woman driving a SUV who was also traveling east signaled a lane change and knocked the motorcycle into the curb.
The victim was sprung from the motor cycle into a tree near. He was then transferred to Vanderbilt Medical Center.
This morning Franklin police announced that the motorcycle driver has died. Additional details pertaining to this crash will be released later today.
As of now no charges have been filed, however an in-depth investigation into the crash is underway.
