Missing Maury Co. teen's father and brother beg for her to come home

Elizabeth Thomas' brother and father asked the public Monday to help bring the missing teen home.

It’s been one week since family reported her missing. Her former teacher, Tad Cummins, was added to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation's Top 10 Most Wanted List with charges of aggravated kidnapping and sexual contact with a minor.

In an interview with Fox 17, Elizabeth’s father Anthony Thomas shared his concern for her safety.

“Izzy, please come home, get away from him," Thomas said. "Come home.”

Elizabeth’s brother James had a message for Cummins.

"To Mr. Cummins; I'm not asking you to report yourself to the police, I'm not asking you to turn yourself in," Thomas said. "I'm just asking you to leave her somewhere safe so we can get her home.”

Talking about the ordeal is painful, but her family believes it’s the best thing they can do.

“I’m just trying to get the word out, the more people I can get looking for her, the better chance we have of finding her,” James Thomas said.

The TBI also asked for the public's help Monday in a news conference.

“Our message to Elizabeth is, we're still coming for you, we're going to do everything our capabilities to bring you home,” DeVine said.

Spokesperson Josh Devine said the urgency is very high because as more time passes, the more complicated the search gets.
