Man killed in north Nashville shooting identified

Man who died in north Nashville shooting is identified as 26-year-old Jonathan Cheers.

UPDATE: The victim killed is identified by police as 26-year-old Jonathan Cheers, 26, of Nashville. The injured victim is identified as 23-year-old Treon Bright, of Nashville He is in critical but stable condition at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.


NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- One person is shot to death in north Nashville.

One of the victims found at the Cumberland View Apartments, 2500 block of 25th Avenue North, just before 10 a.m. on Saturday had multiple gunshot wounds, according to the Metro Nashville police. He died at the scene.

The other man who was shot was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Center.

There were several shell casings on the ground.
