Man charged in crash that killed a Nashville taxi cab driver


Metro Nashville Police said a 30-year-old was arrested in connection to a deadly October crash that killed a Nashville taxi cab driver.

The MNPD arrested Dallas Hendrix on Wednesday on a vehicular homicide by recklessness charge.

On October 11, Hizkias Woldegabriel died after a rollover crash in downtown Nashville. Police said a Ford van hit his minivan cab from behind while he was stopped at a traffic light near 2nd Avenue South and Peabody Street.

A passenger in the taxi, 34-year-old Joshua Deringer was injured. Hendrix and his passenger were also injured.

Woldegabriel, 55, drove for NashVegas Cab.

Hendrix was also charged with reckless endangerment by a motor vehicle and aggravated assault. He was released from jail on a $75,000 bond.
