Police seize 72 lbs of marijuana, prescriptions in drug bust near Madison

Police retrieved 72 pounds of weed and a host of prescription pills are during a drug raid on Tuesday near Madison.

The Metro Nashville Police arrested Arthur Williams, 42, and his girlfriend Gita Jackson, 45, after recovering 72 pounds of marijuana, 39 Xanax bars, 89 Oxycodone pills, 2 pistols, and $9,819 cash with three search warrants.

Police obtained a search warrant after an anonymous complaint. Officers saw Williams selling half-pound quantities of marijuana from his home at 332 E. Webster Street.

Officers linked two other addresses to Williams and obtained search warrants from homes in the 3800 block of Inglewood Circle South and 1000 block of Hart Street.

Most of the drugs, pills and cash were recovered from the Inglewood Circle South home. Officers recovered 11 pounds of marijuana at the E. Webster Street home.

Metro Officers say they also found items used for packaging and selling drugs.

Jackson told officers she had no idea the drugs were being held in her Inglewood Circle South home.

Jackson is charged with Felony possession of a weapon. She and Williams face several drug-related charges.
