Joseph Daniels transferred to state facility from Dickson Jail over safety concerns

Tennessee Department of Corrections

NASHVILLE, Tenn.--The Tennessee father accused of killing his 5-year-old son has been transferred to a state correctional facility over safety concerns.

Joseph Daniels is accused of killing his non-verbal, autistic son Joe Clyde Daniels. The elder Daniels was being held at the Dickson County Jail but District Attorney Ray Crouch confirmed for FOX 17 News Daniels was moved to a state facility in Nashville.

Joseph Daniels is facing premeditated first-degree murder, child abuse, tampering with evidence, criminal responsibility and false report charges. Wife Krystal Daniels is charged with failing to prevent aggravated child abuse and neglect, false report and accessory after the fact.

The search for the remains of baby Joe Clyde Daniels is still ongoing. A search party found what is believed to be the child's blanket earlier this month. According to testimony during hearings for Daniels, the father allegedly beat his son to death for urinating on the floor of the family's home.

Daniels has given investigators several locations where he believes he dumped the body but no remains have been found since the boy's April 4 disappearance.
