CARTHAGE, Tenn. (WZTV) —
A now former Smith County deputy is accused of stealing drugs from the department's evidence room.
Brandon McKae Marshall is charged with two counts of official misconduct, two counts of theft and two counts of tampering with evidence.
Tennessee Bureau of Investigation agents said their investigation showed Marshall took drugs from the department's evidence room for personal reasons on two separate occasions -- one while on-duty and another while off-duty.
Marshal was subsequently fired. He's being held in Smith County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
