Bank robbery suspect in custody after 5-hour standoff

UPDATE: 7:30 a.m.

A five-hour standoff in Clarksville has ended peacefully and a bank robbery suspect is now in custody.

Mike Rollins surrendered to police at about 7:30 a.m. Friday morning after he was holed up inside Motel 6 along Wilma Rudolph Boulevard.

Rollins was wanted for robbing Bank of America along Madison Street Thursday afternoon.

Police said tear agents helped to get Rollins out of the motel after the standoff.

No one was injured.

UPDATE: 7 a.m.

Clarksville Police are using a tearing agent to get a man barricaded inside a hotel to come out.

According to police, the suspect is alone in a room and surrounding rooms have been evacuated.


Police said the barricaded man is the same person who robbed a bank on Thursday.

McDonald's and other businesses near the motel are closed at this time.

Clarksville Police are on the scene of a barricaded suspect at the Motel 6 on Wilma Rudolph Boulevard.

According to police, the suspect is alone in a room and surrounding rooms have been evacuated.

Police say the suspect robbed a Bank of America on Madison Street in Clarksville on Thursday around 2 p.m.

The investigation is ongoing.
