Clarksville Police find woman in possible abduction, say it was domestic incident
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. —
UPDATE (8 p.m.) Police said the women seen in the photo contacted them, and officers are investigating it as a possible domestic incident.
The Clarksville Police Department said the 18-year-old woman saw the photo and called them to say she was safe. Police met with her to find out what happened and verify that she was safe.
Officers determined it was a domestic-related incident and opened an investigation.
The Clarksville Police Department said officers are looking into a possible abduction or kidnapping near Short Street and Sandburg Drive on Friday.
Police said witnesses showed them a photo and video of what appeared to be a white woman being held in a type of choke hold and forced into a black Hyundai sedan by a black man.
The CPD said they have very little information and are going on the "appearance of the situation based on a photo, video and witness account."
Police do not have the identity of the man or woman and only have identifying features from the photo. Officers are working to clean up the video and gather more information.
Anyone who sees a vehicle and people matching this description should call 911.
