Metro Police identify body recovered from Cumberland River as young Nashville man

Metro Police have identified the body recovered from the Cumberland River on Tuesday.

Broderick Stremic, 28, of Nashville was recovered from the river near the 900 block of Young's Lane in North Nashville.

Stremic's father had reported him missing last Friday and said he had last heard from his son the day before.

Police said there's no information that foul play was involved.

The Medical Examiner's Office will determine his cause of death.


Metro Police said a body was recovered from the Cumberland River on Tuesday.

A water rescue call came in at about 9 a.m. and the body was found at 9:30 a.m. The body was found in the river near the 930 block of Youngs Lane in North Nashville.

Police said a kayak was found with no one inside.

The person has not yet been identified.
