VIDEO: Tennessee bicyclist hit by car on Natchez Trace Parkway
FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WZTV) -- A bicyclist is hit by a vehicle from behind on Natchez Trace on Saturday -- and it's all caught on video.
Video of the hit-and-run was taken from a helmet cam from one of the other riders, Greg Goodman of Nolensville.
Goodman says the bicyclist, Tyler Noe, went to the hospital after for tests. He is now home with lots of cuts and bruises.
Marshall Neely of Franklin has been arrested in the incident. He is an employee at University School of Nashville, who gave FOX 17 News a statement on Sunday.
"Marshall Neely served as dean of students at University School of Nashville before transitioning to a part-time role this summer. He also is parent of two alumni. As of today, USN has placed Mr. Neely on leave of absence while we investigate the circumstances. All other matters related to his employment are confidential. We appreciate the work of law enforcement on this matter and will cooperate fully with their investigation. Our thoughts are with the cyclist and his family as well as the Neely family during this difficult time."
Neely is charged with reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, leaving the scene of an accident with injury, failure to report an accident and leaving the scene without giving aid. He was released from jail on Sunday morning on $11,500 bond.
