2 arrested for robbery in South Nashville apartment complex
NASHVILLE, Tenn. —
Metro Police arrested convicted felons Donovan Palmer, 24 and Deonte Spears, 21 yesterday around 3:15 a.m.
The two are accused of shooting and robbing a man outside of the Whispering Hills Apartments on McMurray Drive about two hours before the arrest.
Palmer and Spears approached the victim and demanded his belongings before they pistol-whipped him and took his phone. The suspects then fired shots, hitting the victim in the leg.
The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
The suspects fled the scene in a red Chevrolet Impala. Officers stopped the Impala on Main Street in East Nashville, where the suspects were taken into custody.
Police recovered two handguns from under the front seat of the car, one of them was reported stolen. The Impala had been reported stolen from Noor Auto Sales on Murfreesboro Pike as well.
Spears and Palmer are both charged with aggravated robbery, felon in possession of a weapon, vehicle theft, and theft. They are held on $75,000 bond.
