11-year-old boy hit by SUV while riding bike in Mt. Juliet


MT. JULIET, Tenn. – Police said an 11-year-old boy was struck while riding a bike in Mt. Juliet on Tuesday night.

Police told Fox 17 News the crash happened just before 6:30 p.m. on Providence Trail near Providence Parkway.

Preliminary investigation showed the boy's actions contributed to the crash. Mt. Juliet Police said the SUV driver had no time to react to the young biker.

The roadway was shut down for a short period of time.

The 11-year-old was taken to the hospital with very minor injuries.
