Police identify man hit, killed on Old Hickory Boulevard
NASHVILLE, Tenn. —

Metro Police have identified a person hit and killed near Old Hickory Boulevard.
Dismace Murego, 63, of Hickory Trace Drive was struck by the vehicle about 10:40 p.m. Tuesday.
Police said Murego was trying to cross the street when he was hit by a car. Police said he was wearing dark clothing in a poorly lit area.
Murego was transported to the hospital where he later died. No charges are expected in the case.
Officers responded to an accident at the intersection of Old Hickory Boulevard at Hickory Plaza last night.
A vehicle struck a pedestrian when they were crossing the street. The pedestrian was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene following the crash.
Roads were closed at Nolensville Road at Old Hickory Boulevard and Zermatt at Old Hickory Boulevard. Traffic will be diverted until the investigation is over.
The investigation continues.
