It's closing its taxpayer funded gymnasium saying it doesn't make good financial sense. The Workout Center, which costs $200,000 a year to operate, is closing June 30. Only 4 percent of Smyrna taxpayers use the facility. FOX 17 featured the Smyrna Town Center and its publicly subsidized golf course in a recent Waste Watch report. The Town Center lost $732,000 over six years. Smyrna's golf course lost $400,000 last year alone.
