First and only on Fox … Just days before the one year anniversary, there is a new indictment in the Vanderbilt football rape case.
Paperwork shows a Davidson County grand jury met June 10 to present the charge of tampering with evidence against rape suspects Brandon Vandenburg, Joseph Quinzio and Miles Finley.
The Davidson county clerk's office tells us only one of the suspects has been served with the new paperwork.
The new indictment says that between June 26, 2013 and July 29, 2013 Vandenburg, Quinzio and Finley destroyed or concealed evidence.
The new indictment supersedes the original count handed down in August. The state will seek to dismiss that.
Finley is scheduled for arraignment June 30 — the same day as Vandenburg is due in court for a defense motions hearing.
The entire case has now been assigned to Judge Monty Watkins to oversee. The trial for Brandon Vandenburg, Brandon Banks, Cory Batey and Jaborian McKenize is set for August 11.
