NASHVILLE, Tenn.-- Breaking news in the Vanderbilt football rape case.
Judge Monty Watkins heard arguments in proper counsel for suspect Brandon Vandenburg. The state argued whether California attorney Albert Perez should legally stay on the four member legal team.
All parties agreed to filing paperwork to move forward in the case. The district attorney also did not oppose Judge Gene Osko of California staying on the case.
Vandenburg is one of four former Commodore football players accused of raping an unconscious female student in a campus form in June. The state today submitted a list of 27 items that will be evidence in the case.
Trial in this case is set for August 11th in Nashville.
