UPDATED: Teen Killed, Suspect Car in S. Nashville Shooting Identified

UPDATED: NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- A teen is dead after a shooting outside a convenient store in south Nashville.

Metro police confirm that 18-year-old Deshaun Sawyers died in the 11 p.m. shooting at the Tigermart at 340 Harding Place. A relative tells FOX 17 that he is a 2014 graduate of Blackman High School in Murfreesboro.

It is unclear at this time what led up to the fatal event, but a Metro Police statement says Sawyers and four friends were driving to a party in Brentwood when Sawyers asked to stop at he Exxon to meet someone. That's when got into what could be a silver GMC Envoy (see photo). Moments after, witnesses heard the gunfire and Sawyers ran from the SUV, collapsing outside the store.
