Shelbyville, Tenn-Police arrest two teens for vandalizing a church in Shelbyville. Police say the suspects broke into St. William Catholic Church Thursday night.
Detectives say the teens smashed almost every glass surface in the building. The suspects are accused of splashing paint all over the carpet and walls. Police say the eyes on the Virgin Mary statue were poked out.
The vandalism was found by the Luci Taylor, the church secretary on Friday morning. Church members spent time today cleaning up and now a professional crew is working throughout the night and morning.
St. William hopes to hold services as scheduled this weekend. Police say the teens are being held in a juvenile detention center. A vigil is set for tomorrow in wake of the incident.
