NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Media outlets including FOX 17 are suing to gain access to records in the Vanderbilt Rape case under the Freedom of Information Act. Defense Attorney Ed Yarbrough represents the female student at the center of the case. He's filed a motion to keep news outlets from getting the case records. He says turning over sensitive information could not only hurt the case but damage the dignity and reputation of his client. FOX 17 Attorney, Robb Harvey says the media coalition has been very careful to state we do not want photographs of the victim but we feel the information should be available to the public. A chancery court judge is expected to rule on the motion next month.
