Nashville, Tenn ---- Republican US Senate Candidate Joe Carr's campaign has something on its website www.carrfortn.com you probably won't see anywhere else this year.
Carr's campaign is taking applicants there for a gun raffle.
Carr says the raffle is his way of showing support for a 2nd Amendment he believes is under attack by the Federal Government lately.
"There are a lot of us who believe if you take away our 2nd Amendment what you have is no protection for the other nine," said Carr.
Already thousands of people have responded to the web raffle but not everyone thinks it's the best way to support gun rights.
"I think it's a bit of a risky publicity stunt," said Kat Wright.
Wright is with the organization that formed after the Sandy Hook massacre called Moms Demand Action.
She says there's a good reason gun rights have been getting attention in Washington, especially proposed changes to gun shows and online sales where sometimes there's no background check.
"Which means convicted felons domestic abusers and the mentally ill have every access to guns and we feel that's a common ground issue the majority of Tennesseans agree on," said Wright.
Carr says the winner of his raffle will get a background check along with a new gun from a Beretta company that recently moved to Tennessee specifically because of its support for the 2nd Amendment.
"It's a big deal when one manufacturing company leaves their home statet and comes to another state," said Carr.
