SEATTLE, Wash. -- Following Saturday's win over the New Orleans Saints, the Seattle Seahawks announced they'll be restricting this weekend's ticket sales by state.
Century Link Field, already one of the toughest places to play in the NFL, will be even tougher when the San Francisco 49ers arrive to play for the NFC championship. The Seahawks are only allowing tickets to be sold in six states, Washington, Oregon, Montana, Idaho, Alaska, and Hawaii - California not included.
Fans will have to wait and fight for tickets that slip into the secondary market. And you can bet the price of tickets will be costlier.
Whatever strategic reason, this isn't about the rivalry between the two west coast teams or the team's two head coaches, Pete Carrol and Jim Harbaugh. The Seahawks organization made the decision before they knew their opponent.
