We've all heard warnings about watching our kids on the computer, but looking out for them is even more difficult now that those computers are in our pockets.
Kids connect on apps like Instagram, Facebook, Snap Chat and Skout.
Criminal experts say young people and parents don't always fully understand how easily they can reveal their idenity and location.
But predators do and criminals have used random chat apps to geolocate their targets.
Here's what you need to do now to protect your kids.
Turn off location services on the phone or apps in privacy settings.
Click on each app to see if it's accessing the phone, info or pictures.
The free app lookout will warn you about security risks, tell you how to boost security settings and even tell you which apps are tracking and revealing your location.
But remember, talking with your kids is better prevention than any software.
