A widower in Canada dining alone, picks up the tab for a couple sitting near-by and his act of kindness goes does not go unnoticed.
Lee Ballantyne lost his wife of 43 years in December. He was out dining by himself last week, when he noticed a couple next to him that reminded him of him and his late wife. He wrote a note on a napkin and told his server he wanted to pay for their dinner and to give them the note.
It said, " You don't know me, but my beautiful wife of 43 years died last week. Tonight, I dined alone for the first time. You remind me of us many years ago. Please allow me to buy your dinner. It will put a smile on Carol's face and make me happy for now."
The couple was so moved, they got in contact with Ballantyne, asking to take him to dinner.
