Sensitive electronics will one day... simply dissolve.

Iowa University is working on disposable electronics that disappear after they've served their purpose.

The technology is called "transient material," and it has widespread potential.

From medical tools that work inside your body, to identity theft resistant credit cards and passports.

The research team says it'll be at least 10 years until there are commercially available products.

Right now the the material only dissolves in liquids.

They're working on other ways such as using heat to melt it.
