SAVING YOU MONEY: Price Matching

Shopper Courtney Harris uses some paper coupons, but the bulk of her savings takes place on her smartphone.  Online coupons and price matching apps have revolutionized the shopping experience.  Harris explains how easy it is to pull up a digital coupon and have the clerk scan it. "You just scan your phone when you bring it up and it takes it right off."

The latest figures show nearly 75 percent of us use our smartphones at the store.  Price matching is the primary function.  Many use a bar scanner app which pulls up prices on that product at every store.
The great news now is if you see it somewhere else cheaper,  the store you're in, will likely match the lower price.  However, you have to remember to ask.
Retailers like Target and Best Buy are now price matching web specific deals too from Amazon, Walmart.com and others.  WalMart however, does not match dot com prices.
With a price match for the lowest going rate and a digital coupon, you can save 10 to 30% easily. Great apps I like to use are Retail Me Not  which gives you coupons on the go for tons of stores.
Camel camel camel is another favorite.  It lets you know when your wanted item hits its lowest price.  Target's new Cartwheel app gives great discounts too.  Just search what you want, add all the coupons to your cartwheel and redeem at check out.
Other great shopping apps you may want to try include the following:
Pricegrabber, RedLaser, BuyVia, Couponsherpa, Goodguide, Snaptell
