NASHVILLE, Tenn. - We're SAVING YOU MONEY tonight on something many of you are planning to do in the next 7 weeks: travel to see someone you love. The trade group Airlines for America says holiday travel is expected to rise 1.5% this year. To save the most on airfare, Cheapair.com says book 49 days before you want to fly for domestic flights. Flying on a Tuesday or Wednesday will also save you money. Flying late at night or very early will save you too. Speaking of the holidays, Morgan Stanely is forecasting the weakest holiday season since 2008, mainly because of uncertainty in Washington, including the Government Shutdown and higher medical costs tied to the Affordable Care Act. Sales are expected to be down 2%, which means bargains will be more readily available.
Hard to believe, but there are only 48 shopping days til Christmas. The average family is expected to spend a little over $700. Don't forget, FREEBIE FRIDAY's up tomorrow night. Send Stacy Case any free stuff you know about on Facebook or Twitter.
